Joining our competition teams requires talent, dedication, commitment, passion, and a desire to learn and grow as a dancer. The tools that our dancers will inherit with this experience are endless - on and off the dance floor.

*AUDITIONS
All dancers interested in joining our competition teams must attend auditions on May 24-27. All dancers must learn a short jazz and hip-hop combo to be performed at auditions. Dancers will be assigned a combo based on their age/experience. There is a $20 audition fee per dancer. Audition times will be assigned and it is your responsibility to notify us within 24 hours if your dancer cannot make their scheduled date or time.
*TEAM CAMP
All dancers interested in joining our company for 2021-2022 MUST attend the Summer Team Camp July 26-29th 5:00-8:00PM. This will include learning choreography, technique, improv activities and team bonding. There will be an event to celebrate the week, but this will be determined after competition makeup dates have been set.
Camp is $120 for the week and all camp fees must be paid by July 1st, 2021.
*COMMITMENT EXPECTATIONS
Team members are expected to make dance a priority. You are expected to be at practice and to give 100% effort in class and out of class. Each team member is expected to be at every practice, therefore absences must be excused. We do understand that things happen and certain events take priority. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis at the discretion of the coaches. If a team member has more than three unexcused absences they risk removal from the team.
Once teams are finalized, both parent and dancer will be required to sign a letter of commitment. This letter will guarantee commitment through the duration of the season as well as reinforce our attendance policies.
*REQUIRED CLASSES
Each team member will be required to attend their weekly class. In addition, they must attend a weekly technique class for each style of dance that they compete.
*COMPETITIONS
We will be attending four regional competitions within a 3 hour radius and 1 national competition. Most competitions are held in Indianapolis, but we also might travel to Louisville if necessary. The 2022 competition schedule is yet to be released, but we hope to have these dates and locations available by camp. All team members are required to be at all competitions. Most competitions are between February-May.
All team competition fees are built into your monthly tuition.
*PERFORMANCES
As an IDC team member you will receive many performance opportunities. Each team will attend at least three local events and dance during halftime of an Edgewood game. This is dependent on availability of live events in 2021-2022.
*COSTUMES
Each dance will require one costume. This fee has been built into your monthly tuition.
*SOLOS, DUOS & TRIOS
If your dancer is interested in competing a solo,duet or trio for the 2021-2022 season, you must indicate so on the selection sheet. This does not guarantee your participation in a solo, duet or trio!
Solos, Duets and Trios will be awarded to those who have a strong work ethic and make dance a priority.
Pricing (includes 45 minute weekly lesson and competition fees)
If you choose to compete multiple solos/duos and use the same weekly lesson to practice both routines the pricing would be as follows:
Costumes can average between $60-100 and will be billed on October 1, 2021.
*TEAMWEAR
All team members will have the option to order the teamwear package that includes an Adidas jacket with a rhinestoned company logo and an Adidas backpack with company logo embroidery. This is an additional cost and will need to be paid for by 7/1/2021. You may choose to order either item.

*ADDITIONAL COSTS
There will be an additional charge for team makeup and earrings. We try to reuse items from last season, if possible. We typically charge these fees in late fall, but it is dependent on our performance schedule.
We charge a director’s fee to each dancer to cover travel expenses and wages for instructors and directors during competition weekends. This fee is charged on 2/1/2022. If you compete on multiple teams, this fee will only be assessed once.
